FOUR Steps to Paying With A Credit Card Through PayPal

Subscriptions are different than standard one-time purchases. Even if you've used your credit card through PayPal before, you're going to have to take different steps to purchase a subscription.

1. Find the Credit Card Link.

   
   When you click the Subscribe button, you'll arrive at the following screen.
   
   The text you're looking for reads: Don't have a PayPal Account? Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Click that link.
   
   
2. You'll reach the Credit Card Payment screen.
   
   
   Notice that at the top you're warned that you will be required to create a PayPal account to complete this purchase. This is because your credit card company doesn't offer subscription payments independent of providers like PayPal.
   
   Click the No PayPal Account button and fill in your credit card information.
   
   (To head off a lot of e-mail at this point, I cannot set up the course for one-time payment. Subscription is my only method of delivery, and right now PayPal is the only payment provider available to me. I apologize for my limited options.)
   
   
3. Create your PayPal Account.
   
   This is where I recommended that if you REALLY didn't want a PayPal account but REALLY did want the course, you create a disposable e-mail address for the account, and that when you're finished with the course, you delete the e-mail address AND the PayPal account.
   
   
   IMPORTANT: If you delete the account before you finish the course, PayPal will kick you out, and neither you nor I can undo this, or put you back in where you left off if you create a new PayPal account.
   
   
4. Okay Payment, save your receipt (if you can deduct your writing, you can deduct this course), and BE SURE to click the RETURN TO MERCHANT link.
   
   It's a yellow button. The Return to Merchant link will take you straight into the course and your first lesson.
