Sometimes we read something that moves us. It inspires us and pulls us in and becomes a part of who we are. Stories like that are treasured memories and old friends. For many of us, they are the tales that make us want to write in the first place. Every time you pick up that favorite novel it feels like coming home again.

But what if we find that, having written, we feel uninspired by our own writing? What if we harbor a fear that we will never really fall in love with our own stories? What if our plots and characters leave us feeling flat and uninterested?
