I have a triad of awesome: I submitted a story for the first time, I sold it to the first place I sent it, and I just got a piece of fan mail from another author (who had a story in the same anthology) now that the book has gone live. It took six months for it all to happen, during which I also got my first rejection on another story (hey, it's a first, even if I don't want to celebrate it), signed my first contract, worked with my first editor and proof reader (really great folks to boot), and, as of today, received my first check.

I am feeling like a WORLD of cool! :D

Congrats! Well done! Keep your high going for as long as you can, then come down to earth and repeat whatever you did to succeed. Do a happy dance! I am doing one for you.

Way to go, Rakkifox! Nice work!

And may this be only the first of many, many such success stories for you.

:D :D :D Congratulations! Spend at least a small amount of your check on something silly. It's your first one and you've earned it.
